Teacher’s Assistant

Montessori Renaissance Academy is seeking Teacher’s Assistants who are caring, motivated, and possess a love of encouraging children to learn and grow.

Montessori Renaissance Academy is a private, nonprofit Montessori school located in the north metropolitan suburb of Anoka, MN. We provide children from 16 months through 8th grade with an alternative to more traditional schools.

RESPONSIBILITES:

• Work closely with the lead teacher to help implement the Montessori curriculum in a safe and nurturing classroom.
• Must be able to ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times.
• Interact and communicate effectively as a team with colleagues within the classroom and school.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Prior experience in a Montessori setting is preferred, but not required
• To be Assistant qualified, education and experience must meet one of the following combinations:

1. High school diploma/GED AND 2,080 hours experience as an aide or student intern AND 8 semester credits (12 quarter credits) that count for DHS

2. At least 2 years full time postsecondary education from a college or university AND 1,040 hours experience as an aide or student intern AND 6 semester credits (9 quarter credits) that count for DHS

3. Baccalaureate degree in any field from an accredited college or university AND 6 semester credits (9 quarter credits) that count for DHS

COMPENSATION:

• Dependent on experience and education
• Range from $14 – $16 per hour

SCHEDULE:

• Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm
