Children’s House Teacher
I love working with children and helping them to become lifelong learners. My passion for education started way back in Junior High when I started directing my first shows in 4H. I went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. Later, I received my Montessori training through the North American Montessori Center for ages 3 to 6. I started my study of the Montessori Method when I worked as the Music Teacher for a Toddler and Children’s House Montessori program. I fell in love with the method and went back to school to get certified to become a Montessori guide.
Over the years, I have taught all ages from Toddler to Senior High in a variety of classroom settings in both public and private schools. People often ask me what age I like best. My answer: I just love working with children at any age. In addition to my classroom teaching, I also maintain a private Piano and Voice studio in my home and at school, which I enjoy very much. Currently, I have 25 private students.
I have been at the Minnesota Renaissance School for 7 years, first starting the Toddler Program, and for the past year in Children’s House and also as the Music Teacher for grades 1-8. I am really excited to be continuing my work at the Montessori Renaissance Academy.
