Elementary Teacher
This year marks my 14th year teaching in various Montessori settings, but I fell in love with the Montessori method several years prior to having my own classroom. I got involved in a Montessori classroom as part of my undergraduate courses and fell in love with the hands-on approach, watching kids learn from each other and being able to see big-works come to life over an extended period. I also love that it was a way to really meet every child where they are at and guide them to more knowledge when they are ready for it.
I am a 2007 graduate of Augsburg College, where I received my undergraduate degree in Elementary education with a science concentration. I also minored in Spanish. I then went to St. Catherine University to obtain my Montessori credentials for lower and upper elementary and my master’s degree. I completed both in 2010. In 2015, I completed the Montessori STEM certification and hold a MN state teaching license. I also actively volunteer with Roseville’s Rosefest parade committee and the MN State Fair Foundation, and participate in the MN Montessori Network.
