Elementary 2 Teacher
Jaclyn Gehrke, our Elementary 2 Teacher, has been an ardent advocate of the Montessori Method long before she led her own classroom. Her initial encounter with Montessori education during her undergraduate studies left a profound impact on her, captivated by its hands-on approach and the dynamic learning environment where students learn from each other and engage in comprehensive projects over extended periods. Jaclyn appreciates the Montessori philosophy for its capacity to meet each child at their unique developmental stage and guide them towards deeper knowledge at their own pace.
A 2007 graduate from Augsburg College, Jaclyn earned her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in science, alongside a minor in Spanish. Her quest for deeper understanding of Montessori pedagogy led her to St. Catherine University, where she obtained her Montessori credentials for lower and upper elementary education, as well as a master’s degree, completed in 2010. Further enhancing her expertise, she achieved Montessori STEM certification in 2015 and holds a Minnesota state teaching license. Beyond her professional endeavors, Jaclyn is actively engaged in her community, volunteering with Roseville’s Rosefest parade committee, the Minnesota State Fair Foundation, and participating in the Minnesota Montessori Network.
Her academic credentials are extensive, encompassing a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a science focus, a Master’s degree in Montessori Education, certifications in both E1 & E2 Montessori levels, Montessori STEM Certification, and she is currently advancing her education with the Cincinnati Montessori Secondary Teacher Education Program. Since joining Montessori Renaissance Academy (MRA) in 2014, Jaclyn has found her greatest fulfillment in embracing the Montessori Method. She resonates with the multi-grade collaborative approach and is passionate about nurturing both the emotional and academic aspects of her students. Her emphasis on collaboration, problem-solving, and integrating experiences both inside and outside the classroom exemplifies her dedication to holistic education.
